While the Department office, Graduate Studies Office (The Assoc. Vice Provost is a member of the Physics faculty), and Graduate Student Association as well as your own advisor can provide you with answers to questions regarding life as a graduate student, also be aware that simply being a graduate student offers many benefits outside of the University, including student discounts, certain tax breaks, student loan deferment, and of course frequent opportunities for free food. Ask around!
